I had the "modern" pair from about 20 years ago - never worked right, even with the recommended micro switch adjustments.

Replaced them with post war versions and am happy.

As an aside, after about a year of trying to sell the modern ones at train shows and ebay, I practically had to give them away at $90 for the pair.
