Hey Steve, I'm curious as to the color of the boiler, whether it is black, gray, graphite, or what ever other colors they could be? I know it is early and it may take a bit to get information on that, but figured I would ask.

This matters only if it matters to you (it does to me):

The NYC had no USRA Pacifics, and the photo above is one of a NYC K3 Pacific (probably; there were other similar classes), the primary Pacific in NYC Line East service, ultimately replaced in mainline service by the first Hudsons. They did not look very "USRA-ish".

The NYC had few USRA-design steamers: H-6 Light Mikes; U-3 0-8-0 switchers; a few 0-6-0's on a subsidiary I forget; Heavy Mike copies w/changes on the P&LE. I think that was it.

The loco above is not of a USRA engine.
