Lionel GP30 shell on an Atlas GP35 drive?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to mount a Lionel GP30 shell on an Atlas GP35 frame/drive? I am switching to 2-rail and would really like to have some GP30's but nobody makes them but in 3-rail except for in brass.
