Fair point, but it it would be nice for people to know what kind of warranty they're getting with the product.
In any case, I'm for sure buying it from a Lionel Dealer. Mainly because if I buy it from Ebay and it comes with a defect, I will have to pay for the repair out of pocket.

Lionel will never publicly admit a life time warranty.

what would it take to prove it to you?

I got mine in 2010 and 2011 and sent they both back in 2017 for service.

When Mike Reagan was with Lionel he started the policy because like was said above without the legacy system how do you run command trains.
