Thank you for the information on Lionel. Here are a few suggestions.
 
1. Created a Product Locator
2. Present a WebEx to customers on products and services several times a year.
3. Create new a shipping schedule: If the item has shipped..... keep it on the list with the month shipped.
4. Lionel Product tours around America like they did several years ago.
5. Create product questionnaire on their website several times a year to get a pulse of the Model Railroaders. Perhaps offer door prizes that can be picked up at your local hobby shop!

Good ideas Frank, I have been pushing the Product Locator Portal to Mike. I know it is exspensive but here is how it would pay off. It would help dealers move old product and thus would transform into dealers ordering new product to replace it.
 
I always said that a company's greatest compitition is not another company but it's history. Think about it.
