Filing/sawing off the visor will only take a couple of minutes.  Brass is easy to work with in this regard. Drilling it out is easy but will take a little while.  The hardest part is holding onto it firmly enough so that you can drill while not indenting the brass.  As for the lense, that's super easy - use Bondic.  Hold LED in place, squirt in enough Bondic to fill the space, shine the little Bondic UV light on it for 10 seconds and your done.

Now that seems doable, thanks Chuck.  I looked at the existing Berk's headlights and disappointingly, they are not the same as the Mikado.  That puts me back to brass castings and the Bondic might be my way forward.
