Got the VL Niagara last October and it is a good runner; out of the box, I had one issue and that was with the vertical hand rails on the back end of the cab - one was broken off at its lower mounting hole - easy fix with epoxy (tried crazy glue but that discolored the surrounding black paint, used Tamiya spray paint to fix that). One other issue - running it with a CW80 was not enough to get the water effect from the tender but used a ZWL and the tender smoked as designed.
