I have the VL gray (grey?) version and it's been absolutely fine in terms of multiple operating feature performance (using a ZW-L for power).

It's not really a big engine (compared to models of articulated steamers) but has a centipede tender. Only use mine on O72 track but I don't see that it would have an issue on O54 or O63.
