Lionel O42 remote switch to a SC2

just purchased a SC-2 accessorry switch controller and trying to wire by 2 lionel 042 remote switches to be used by my legacy control. Switches work with the manual switch controllers that came with them. I used fiber pins on the inside of the rails of the switches liek normal and they work correctly. Having a heck of a time trying to get it wired to the SC2. Using my postwar ZW Fixed voltage plug and i hooked wire to the side ports of the sc2. Have a gren light on the SC2 and when i hit the divergent on the legacy it switches real fast. I cannot remember what cause this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx
