Lionel plastic bodied ES44AC questions

I recently found a Lionel ES44AC in my favorite paint scheme for sale on Ebay in near perfect condition and for a great price. So I was wondering about what I should look out for with these models.

From looking around. The steps break off pretty easily if the model handled wrong, the MU hose details also can break off in certain cases, and the fan for the smoke unit has a tendency of calling it quits randomly. Is that all, or are there other issues?

The die cast ES44ACs are way out of my price range, so the plastic bodied models are a good middle ground.
