Lionel Post War NW2 Switcher 621

Hello,

I bought a Post War 621 Jersey Central at a train show over the weekend. I noticed that it did not have a E Unit but it does run forward or reverse if I changes the wires. . I was told that I could install a Electronic E Unit in the engine. Is this true? Or would it be better to install a regular E Unit?

If I can install a Electric E Unit what should i look for or what type. I have never looked into this so that is why I'm not sure. Where is the best place to look?
