Yup, I'm a goner.

Over the years since the last of my PW was sold off... I've sneaked over to The Bay and checked on PW and other traditional 3-rail stuff... or participated in threads here extolling the virtues of PW, or traditional 3-rail in general, etc. I reckon my appreciation (and muffled desire) for it has never truly been out of my system ever since it got in to my system back the 1990s.

Even if nothing ever comes of it (i.e. a permanent layout), this time I've made a promise to myself that I will not sell it off. No, even if a layout idea fizzles, any accumulated 3-rail will remain on the shelves for those times I must have a fix, and if nothing else, it can circle an oval on the kitchen table!

Wow, your Erie set looks mint.

'Ya done good.

I think Lionel's treatment of the Erie scheme (in spite of being simplified) is still one of the best looking schemes for the cast frame FA's.  (Though I like the 2031 Rock Island's, too.)

Sigh. And now a picture of another of my dearly departed brethren...

Say... let me just go ahead and bend over... an' one of you just haul off an' kick me in the hiney.

It would serve me right.

Andre,

I hear you brother...the ones that got away!

Yeah, my Eries are in fantastic shape. Run well, too. Even the horn is healthy.  Something about the stark black with the yellow gold striping that makes these a winner.
