Ryan Kunkle from Lionel stated during last years Amherst Railway Society railroad hobby show that they would likely need new tooling cut over in China to make these cars, The prior tooling was tied up by an outside vendor in a dispute and was likely not to be returned. Not exactly word for word what he said but that’s how I understood it.
