Well if the 2021 has plastic wheels instead of metal wheels like the 2020. Yes the 2020 version is better.
I'm with Rattler. The previous runs are some of the best rolling stock Lionel has ever produced. Smooth rolling die cast trucks with hidden uncoupling tabs , great detail, and excellent fit and finish.
On top of that . When you can get great deals on these on the secondary market. I wouldn't even consider the new ones if and when they ever get made. Especially with Lionel recent track record of defective re issues of items that were trouble free in previous offerings.
Heres a small sampling.

Hoping the new run is just as well done as the old as the new run offers road names and paint schemes that were not previously offered.
