First off, it's pretty unlikely that both sides failed, I'm having a hard time believing that. There is no logic on that board, so a simple ohmmeter test will tell you if it's really the board. First step is to measure the resistors for 8 ohms, then see if they have continuity to the connectors. I suspect you may be chasing the wrong issue.
