Lionel Vision Line CC2S Chuff sound skipping regulary

Hello all, when running the CC2S engine, the chuff sound regularly skips. Thinking there was a magnetic wheel sensor, or something, I checked for debris on the underside and found nothing, engine and tender. Any ideas on this would be appreciated.
