There is tiny camera in the cupola portion of the caboose as if you were sitting in cupola looking forward ( or if you turn the caboose around, looking back). You connect the camera to you iPad, iPhone or other devise through the wifi signal of the caboose. You can download the wifi app from Lionel for free. There is no sound.

Just make sure you read some of the other posts about this Caboose so you know you might run into.. Some are having issues with the clarity of the picture due to the window. They've had to make modifications in order to make it clearer.
