I personally preferred butane/isobutane firing for my three gauge one live steamers: Roundhouse SR&RL #24, LGB Frank S, and a Geoffbilt 2-truck Shay. I always used steam distilled water, high-grade cigar lighter butane purchased at a tobbaconist shop, and high-grade medium viscosity steam oil. Never had any clogged nozzles!
