Well, the OP said he didn't want to use a squeeze tube or caulking gun because of hand issues and, although he wanted something "spreadable" - like from a can - my suggestion would be a spray adhesive, as was mentioned above. Gorilla Glue also makes a decent spray adhesive, but make sure to check the open time.
