Terrific progress on your Hudson! With regards to the smoke unit, the Hudson originally came with a Seuthe smoke unit. I have 2 engines that use these units. They produce a lower volume of smoke that is not as offensive and may be what you are looking for. My big piece of advice however is to only use the smoke fluid that is recommended for these units. The usual smoke fluids burn too hot and will burn out the unit (I found that out the hard way!). Other retailers may offer these units and fluid, but I purchased mine from DCC Trains.
