Ok, here is my cleaning train.

Cleaner Train

 

 

the centerline cars work well, but they need to be changed several times during a cleaning run.  the rollers can be laundered.

 

the newly acquired Weaver also works well.  the fact that it is motorized and spinning the pads is a big plus.  the pad holders themselves do not secure to the car.  if you pick the car up, they fall off.  this makes getting the car on the tracks with fresh pads a tricky exercise.  also, care must be taken when removing the peel backing...the sticky layer wants to stay stuck to the peel backing.  good fingernails and concentration are needed to separate the two.

 

The R&L car uses small foam paint rollers for scrubbing.  they are angled obliquely and this causes them to rotate as they go down the track.  this is a heavy car with a lot of drag.  these rollers can be laundered, too.

 

 

 

the magnet car i made by gluing a big magnet (obtained at my local hardware store) to the bottom of a little used reefer. it is striking the amount of fine metal shavings it picks up.
