Low Volume on FEF

Hello all,

So I recently won a Lionel FEF-3 on ebay. The model is 6-11116.
She runs great. but I did notice the sound seems a little low, despite the volume on the tender being up and turned up in the remote. Is there way to be able to raise the volume without doing to much work?
