Two things I use, Rubber Cement, which can easily be cleaned off figures and the area they are glued to by just gently rolling/peeling residue off. Also very small piece of thin clear plastic such as found in many packaging from items we purchase for our layout. A small 1/4" or smaller for figures and items like motorcycles works great.
