Some McCoy E2s were modified to run off electrical power via their pantographs such as the CMStP&P EP3 below that was customized by Pierre Mauer.  On this example, there is a small toggle switch on the roof that allows the electrical power pickup to be  switched from the rails to the pantographs. 

I'm not sure, but I believe Mauer produced more than one of these pantograph-powered E2s and to those he may have applied a different livery.

 

As you noted, "orange" was also a color applied by McCoy to their E2s.  Here is a special Milwaukee Road version.
