Part II of railfanning before Thanksgiving (and before the snow) on the Fort Wayne Line.
The second of three Heritage units on this day was NS's Interstate ES44AC. The unit was leading a westbound 25Z intermodal. Since that Tuesday, the unit has crisscrossed the FORL two more times, each time in a trailing position.
On 25Z was this blue Hub Group #causecontainer. If one sees a container and tags their photo of it with the hashtag, supposedly Hub Group will donate $100 to the group listed on the container (they have yet to acknowledge my Instagram post).
On an eastbound intermodal (unknown symbol) was this increasingly rare "whiteface" Dash 9. Though there are still at least 600 Dash 9s rostered by NS, many of these units, which were delivered with a preliminary version of the present-day "unibrow" scheme, have been repainted during overhaul.
The last of three heritage units was the Virginian SD70ACe, trailing a week-old AC44C6M on manifest 12G. As with the Interstate, this unit has made several trips to and from the area, always in the trailing position, on manifests 34A and 12G.
