Reply to "Midweek Photos 9/20/2017 [Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing, Baby]"

I'll add to the "real thing."  During the past month I've been shooting steam with photo gear period correct to the engines.  This really challenges me as set up is slow, I only get one shot, and the fastest shutter speeds on my vintage 1905-1925 lenses is 1/150s!  There are some steam engines running in South Dakota--the pair of switchers at Prairie Village (Madison, SD) and of course the famous 1880s Train in Hill City, SD.   Needless to say, both are fun to watch (and hear!)   So, a few shots taken with either Chamonix 045n 4x5 and Heliar 150mm (c.1922) or a Century Camera Co. Model 41 (c.1905) with 125mm Velostigmat (c.1908), both on 4x5 Acros film:

It's now the end of September, and all the threshing shows have ended.  I love those!  I had another great year and caught a number of nice photos.  Here's some from my favorite show, in Andover SD--the James River Valley Threshermen's Reunion:
