Cost? They look good in the photos, but I think Henry Bultmann made a pretty good drive, too. Jerry Snow also did a good drive, and the boys in Fresno are supposed to have a hot setup.

ALmost any drive is an improvement for early Overland. Probably true of some other imports as well.
