Reply to "moving boats on rails... a pretty neat idea"

Before Travel Lifts made them passé, this was the method used to handle large boats locally. I can remember two local marinas which advertised their marine railways and watched many a yacht get hauled out.

Obviously they took a lot of space and were high maintenance.

Like the idea of modeling on a layout. We might just do it.
