looking at PRR's photos the second item is a "Regulator" . Does as he says pushes the stone around shaping the stone. the "Broom" on the other end clean the track at the end of the job.

The Forth photo is the "Tie Inserter".

Behind the insert and before the tamper is a Spiker. I would have to guess the first machine is a spike puller.
