MTH 4-12-2 PS2 3V

I purchased a beautiful used UP 4-12-2 #9000 (20-3293-1). All functions work using DCS except for the lighted number boards on top of the boiler. I did a factory reset and also did a feature reset, still not working. Is there an issue with the # boards or am I missing something to turn them on?

Thanks for any advice to point me in the right direction.
