It fits on any MTH freight cars I have seen, but you have unscrew several screws on the bottom of the car to remove the car body from the base. Then you can get to the top screw. For example, the photo below is of the bottom of a coalporter. This shows one of the four screws that holds the car body to the base. There are two that flank each truck.
