I have MTH Premier Erie Triplex with PS2 that stopped moving. Just prior, as I was running it, it began to have momentary bursts of speed. The engine then just took off and I had to hit the E-stop to avoid it flying off the tracks. I had limited the engine speed to 60 scale miles in the app and it was running at 25 mph just before it sped off so it wasn’t that I accidentally hit the 120mph dial. After clearing the E-stop, I then tried a restart and the engine sounds came on, but it would not move in forward or reverse. Frankly, I wasn’t surprised given what had just happened. I took a shot and tried the feature and factory resets. I added the engine back into the app with no problem. The result however was the same — it wouldn’t move. While all the sounds, smoke etc, still seem to work, the startup did not sound the same in that the engine sounds came on directly without the normal startup sequence. I checked the battery through the app and it came back as ok. Before I surrender and take it to get repaired, does anyone have any suggestions as to what actions I may take to give it another try? I will admit that I am a bit wary in attempting to do much tear down as the Triplex sure looks like a complicated beast.
