Here's an east test... (conventional or command) ... get the engine running with sound and then cut the track power. The sounds should continue on for at least 6 or 7 seconds with no track power....
How long do the sounds continue on?

I took the tender off and the battery was missing. Added the green mth PS2 battery and it working great now. Thank you as always for your troubleshooting time.
