Reply to "MTH Premier "O" Scale NYC Jubilee J1c Hudson Special Announcement"

What am I missing here? It looks like another black Hudson to me.

Thanks Pat for explaining the difference of this locomotive from all the others.  For us, HISTORY is as fascinating as the models themselves.  Similar, but not as famous as the story of the "999" and its record-breaking event, other New York Central locomotives played parts in major historical events.  Thankfully, many historic events were not tragic like the wreck at Little Falls NY that killed many people or a boiler explosion of a 20th Century Limited Dreyfuss in nearby Canastota NY.

One such happy event was the removal of over 100 daily New York Central passenger trains from the streets of downtown Syracuse, NY.  This model Hudson we are building dubbed "The Jubilee Hudson" is the first eastbound Empire State Express into the all-new elevated station, a huge civil engineering project built in 1936, during the height of the Great Depression.  The Jubilee celebrations was so great, it lasted several days and made national newsreels shown all-over the United States.  You can read more about our model here:  https://jrjunction.com/product...-jubilee-j1c-hudson/

The real story is best found by reading the Railroads In The Streets Of Syracuse book available here:

Its fun when our custom run models and the hobby we all enjoy help tells a story we feel is worth telling.
