If you can see the threads up there with a light, you don't have to take anything apart. It takes some patience. The piece slides up and down very easily.

There should be a wire on the other end. That way when you throw the switch for three rail, something is connected to those rollers!

I think there should be instructions to install those screws to protect the wiring even on 2 rail usage.
