It is nice to be able to uncouple the rear A unit. A long time ago, in a kingdom far, far, away, you could get Lionel LCRX units intended for GP9 dummies and would give you two lights and two couplers for a nice price. I used one in a trailing Lionel F3, and another in an Atlas dummy which I later sold. I believe ERR has something for that.
