Reply to "MTH PS/2 4 chuffs question"

Do all MTH PS/2 locomotives have this feature?

All MTH PS2 and PS3 engines have the ability to set the chuff rate from 1 chuff per revolution to 32. However, you need to be using DCS to set the chuff rate.

Under DCS, first select the engine so that it displays in the remote's LCD window. Then, press:MENU/Sound/Chuff Rate, and select the chuff rate with a soft key. Last, press the thumbwheel and ENG to return to the Engine screen.

Also, set ProtoChuff to AUTO by pressing: MENU/Sound/ProtoChuff, and press the AUTO soft key. Last, press the thumbwheel and ENG to return to the Engine screen.

For conventional operation, I don't recall if the engines come from the Factory with a ChuffRate of 2 or 4 as the default.

This and a whole lot more is all in MTH’s “The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition", available for purchase as an eBook or a printed book at MTH's web store!
