Jon, while you are here... I always wondered if the DB9 port on the Z4000 receiver could be used to control the Z4000 in some capacity? Perhaps that's not possible, any insight is appreciated.

Not a clue. I was the O gauge and tinplate guy at MTH. Don did all the electronics. Dave does R&D.
