MTH roller replacement

For years I have said we need a Repair forum, but that is a topic for another day. Here goes, hope someone sees this.

I am looking at a PS1 F3, probably a 2002 unit. The rollers need replacing. I other units I have, the roller attaches to the truck via a screw, accessible from the bottom. Some the side plate screw come off from the bottom, from the top by swinging the truck enough .

Not this. I am looking at trying to guess if it has to come completely off just to change a roller. In the depression where the roller goes, I can see the tip of the screw that comes down from the top to hold it on (that does me little good) AND I see in the depression, a phillips head screw going up. It may be what holds the truck and can motor to the frame.

From the top, rotating the truck to the side, shows two smaller phillips head screws, holding the wires to the truck: 1 red 1 blk on each truck. Swinging trucks do not even make me think I could get the side plates off if I needed to change a tire.....not without taking the whole truck off!

So, the questions are: what is the minimum to do to replace a roller? The both need it. Is taking the truck off the only EASY way to put on tires? (They don't need it but why not do it now? They are a couple of years old!)

Neither pos or gnd screw looks like it also  holds the truck on, so I see no need to loosen them yet. They look like a bear to get on without dropping the truck. So, if the truck drops off, how does one do that?

I am thinking there are 50 people on here that know. Could one of you supply me with the answer? I want to put this engine (it came from a Texas Special set) back into the otherwise unused set, and give it to the 10 year old grandson for Christmas.

Thank you in advance, Greg (where is the button to click to get email replies sent to me if someone answers? The follow button? )
