Eh. I soldered it. Bridged the gap with an 18 gauge solid wire and soldered it in. Probably melted a little bit of tie here and there but ignored it as you wont see it when ballasted. Once its soldered, you also dont need tons of electrical drops either.
Use the longest piece of flex track you can, not little snippets. If you are mating it to a rigid piece of track, then try and keep the end tie with the snap ins on the end of the flex track. I found that helped to anchor the flex track in place.
Then again, theres more than one way to skin the cat. The joints may expand and contract with the seasons, so there's something to be on the look out for....
