There is plenty of track available between MTH and SHS, there are few to no turnouts. I found almost all the SHS turnouts I had needed repairs of the sliding contacts inside the turnout. They were not a robust design. I do not know if the MTH versions were better.

Were I building a layout with MTH sectional track I would use the FasTrack turnouts from Lionel. There are tutorials on how to join the two track systems. The FasTrack turnouts appear to be more reliable and they are available in two different sizes, 20"R and 27"R.

The best commercial turnouts available using the .138" rail are Fox Valley, but they are not sectional. They are also #5's so they complicate the layout design.
