You should get one of those turnouts out and try it. The power control does not work like the Gilbert turnouts. As I recall the slide switch on the SHS turnouts either puts power from the point side of the turnout to both legs of the frog side or to neither. This second setting allows for use of a relay or a separate power source to the frog side.
