Don't forget that the 1998 PS1 version, as built, would not run through 072 curves without derailing. The trucks would hit the tanks on the underside of the frame, limiting the movement and causing the engine to derail. My quick fix was to just remove the 8 tanks. I believe MTH offered parts to raise it up to clear the tanks.
I believe this is why the later propane turbine and evidently this newest veranda has the "high water" look compared to the original PS1 veranda version.
