To do a military split lens on the white, a strip of styrene painted black would do the trick, the real thing has the lens so it refracts a split white signal so you knew it was military, which usually worked unless the field was smack dab in the middle of a city, then the lights washed out the beacon until you took a cut on the tacan or ADF, back before glass panels and GPS.
Agree, but I just kept it like a civilian light for simple application. I do like what someone said about a motor. Problem is how to keep light bulb stationery and rotate lense or ?? I thought about this idea too, but wondered how to make it all work.
