Reply to "MTH Z4000 Banana Terminal number"

I'd look twice at the Radio Shack part, it doesn't seem all that robust!  This is a transformer that delivers up to 10 amps from each output, looks a bit anemic for the job.  Don't know why it has such a low rating...

When I have a truly dead TIU, I just pull all the usable parts off, and the binding posts are one very useful thing I get from them.  Several Z-4000 transformers have them now.

Yeah I'm not sure why the Radio Shack part is spec the way it is. The internal screw terminals are slightly thicker than the salvage MTH terminals and they also have just a bit more weight to them.  the eyelet holes on the binding post are just a tad bigger than the MTH version which allows for larger wire to inserted through the post. Otherwise they look dang near identical.

I load tested the one pictured above with an 8 amp load at 16 volts for an hour and didn't notice any detectable failure point or heat build up.
