Hey I think it's the little dings and chips add character. Real locomotives all have some ugly spots. As far as bad castings from MTH I have been lucky except for an early RK Hiawatha that the driver flanges literally crumbled before my eyes. Fine one day and I took it off the shelf to run and was shot after about an hr of being on the layout.
