My impression of my new Atlas F-3 Burlington engines

This may fall into a comparison of the 2 other players in this realm.

Sounds are OK.  Nothing remarkable compared to MTH and Legacy sounds. No enhanced crew chatter.   Only 1 engineer and one dispatch announcement.  Engine sound OK.  Horn loud.

Lash up worked well.  I like that the engines have all functions and can be independently operated.  Good if you use only 1 A unit and you want to rotate to the other A unit.

Detail is very good.  The trucks stand out compared to the other 2 players.  Fixed pilot conversion included is nice for those who choose to convert.

On balance, I'm OK (barely) with the purchase.  $450+ per unit gets you into numbers that are inline with the best of the other 2 players offerings.  I do take some pleasure into putting money into Atlas as they are a good company and do help keep the others on their toes.

Just my thoughts here.  I had to get locomotive power for my new MTH California Zephyr set.  The E-8's were gone.  The Atlas engines are nice, but lacked a "wow" factor.
