My Impression of the Lionel Tinplate remakes by MTH

One of the AGTTA members went to a Non train Swap meet and found a MTH Lionel Corporation Tinplate 11-5509-1 the Christmas No.269E Distant control set. He bought it new for 200 dollars, I put it on the track and I explained to the members I was with that It was a remake by MTH, they argued with me until I showed the tether and showed them the Proto 3.0 sticker under the tender. I was impressed with the set up but the problem was the layout we ran on had switches everywhere and no Tracks without switches so the slide shoes causes the car to uncouple. Overall I am impressed with the set, I have considered getting one but I am holding off until I get the things I would like to get first.
