Yeah, the slide shoes on the MTH / Lionel repros using Ross track switches trigger the couplers and they will uncouple. It's a pain in the neck. The only solution is to super glue the car slide shoes to the bottom frame or place a piece of tape on the metal "bulb" on the slide shoe so that it doesn't conduct electricity like I told ya.
Or do what I did and tie them up - I believe it was Scott Smith that originally thought of this - my apologies if it was someone else.
