My question is... What do you do with the buildings and figures when it's time to put it away or move it?

All the buildings, autos, trees, people etc. go into one plastic storage container. All the trains can stay on their shelves when the layout is folded up. The layout has a handle on top and I'm still strong enough to lift it on and off the table. Then the layout (only about 4" deep) and container easily store in a closet.
